Our Dominican Youth / Young adults (Daminh Tre Lo Duc) began in the Holy Year 2000.  Thanks be to God, we are still alive today, serving our parish and neighbors.  The late Father Do Van Luc,OP initiated our Dominican Youth at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, after he had established Dominican Youth in LaVang Catholic Church.  We have gone through the years with various past presidents (Yen Nguyen, Dat Nguyen, Thuy Tran, Phuong Nguyen, and Libby Pham).  Our current president for the 2010 – 2012 term is Thao Nguyen, vice-presidents (Thu Nguyen and Linh Nguyen), treasurer (Kim-Van Nguyen), and secretary (Oanh Nguyen).  We work with each other under the guidance of God the Holy Spirit; Our Blessed Virgin Mother; St. Dominic; St. Catherine de Siena; our Huynh Doan Daminh Houston Chapters director, Bac Thuan; and our spiritual fathers, Father Tien Dinh, OP. and Father Duc Minh Nguyen, OP.   We celebrate with mass yearly in honor of our patron, St. Vincent Liem, OP; St. Catherine de Siena, patron of Dominican lay persons; and our Founding Father, St. Dominic.   Our charism is to promote vocations of the priesthood and religious life through prayers and funding for seminarians and sisters.  Our second charism is to help the poor we see around us and to whom we meet, such as those Haiti Earthquake victims.  We especially love the homeless we see atHouston.  We also work to promote pro-life through prayers and Eucharistic Adoration for the unborn and the mothers.
