Our Faith Hope & Love
Our parents and elders at the parish are getting older every year, and they will need our support, such as driving them to church for mass to receive Holy Communion (Jesus Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity in the holy bread), so that their soul will be enlightened and belong to God. Help them in their old age by not letting them stay in the nursing home by themselves, with no family to come and visit. This is our duty as their children. They may have health problem and need interpretation during doctor’s visits and emergencies, for they need our tender loving care. When we are older like them, we expect the same as for our children. We follow the Church guidelines by asking the parish priest to give them the Last Sacrament to strengthen them and do not do euthanasia. Let them live till the last time. Our Catholic belief is “Life at the moment of conception till natural death.” We do not do abortion or euthanasia, for they are mortal sins.
What can our parish do to us youth and young adults? We would love to have a bowe can recite to adore our Lord and have devotion to our Blessed Mother and the saints. We don’t want to lose our Vietnamese language, and if we can recite these prayers in Vietnamese, we can have a connection ok in Vietnamese of all the prayers that to God in our own beautiful language, for it is the language of the heart. This book would also contain the basic catechisms of the Catholic faith such as the beatitudes, how to go to confession, the 10 commandments, or the Stations of the Cross, which we often hear our parents recite, but we do not memorize them. It would be perfect if these prayers of the Catholic faith are passed down to the young people, so we can treasure them and pass down to our children.
In conclusion, let’s gather and pray together at Sunday mass and even daily mass. Let’s receive the Eucharistic Jesus in our hearts and souls, so that our being is filled with God’s grace, and are not afraid to face the challenges of life. Let Jesus be in our hearts and bring others to Him. We will see each other many times and finally in heaven where our true home is. Our faith, hope, and love for God the Father, Jesus theSon, and God the Holy Spirit should increase, and everything we do, we do it through our Blessed Mother. Finally, we keep our Catholic identity and Vietnamese identity, which came from the root of thousands of Vietnamese martyrs. Together, we can achieve our goal and that is to see each other in heaven!
